We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and providing exceptional customer service. Skills:
1. Proven experience in managing food service operations, including staff management, inventory control and menu planning. 2. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and a record of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
3. A Safe Food Handling Certificate is required. (Certificate is an online course)
4. Demonstrated ability to increase sales and control costs to improve the profitability of the food service establishment. 5. Excellent customer service skills with an ability to resolve conflicts and ensure customer satisfaction.
6. Capability to train and motivate staff to provide exceptional food quality and presentation consistently.
7. Demonstrate leadership qualities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
8. Experience with Touch Bistro is an asset.
Duties:
1. Oversee food preparation and other kitchen operations.
2. Order food and beverages, equipment, and supplies.
3. Ensure that employees comply with health and food safety standards.
4. Ensure timely food service and quality control.
5. Address customer complaints or concerns.
6. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas.
7. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports. 8. Conduct interviews for potential new hires.
9. Evaluate performance and provide feedback.
10. Help to resolve employee issues and disputes.
Pay based on experience level, LAPP Pension and Health Benefits after three months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Are you in high school and looking for a job with a fun and busy atmosphere? Working with a group of people who are mentors and love our community? We are actively looking for part time and casual assistants in the Carena Kitchen, located in the Viking Carena Complex.
For many a first job is a scary idea, working for people you don't know very well, learning new skills, a new environment you've never been in before. We get it, we all did the same thing at your ages. We want to be the mentor, to help this be your first job and to build your skills for the next stage in your life. We need student youth who are willing to listen, learn and be amazing.
Some training is needed in the beginning, and we will make sure you get it. We have a fun environment to work in and want you to be part of it.

DAY, EVENING OR WEEKEND SHIFTS – CASUAL / PART-TIME, FLEXIBLE HOURS
ALL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
- High degree of personal initiative and ability to work on their own
- Willingness to learn how to operate Zamboni and other equipment.
- Ice Maintenance as directed by Lead Operator
- Skate sharpening
- Perform janitorial duties in all areas inside and surrounding the building
- Ensure cleanliness of rental spaces (meeting rooms etc.) prior to and following rental period.
- Assist with special events – set up and cleanup of tables/chairs and other related equipment for facility user group activities
- Ensure safety and security of the facility by following all safe work procedures and report all incidents to immediate supervisor as well as completing required report forms as needed
- Ensuring all required paperwork (daily time sheets etc.) are completed properly
- Provide excellent customer service to all users of the Viking Carena Complex while ensuring they follow the rules and regulations of the facility
- Other duties as assigned
Carena Kitchen

Are you retired or semi-retired and want to try something new? We are actively looking for part time and casual assistants in the Carena Kitchen, located in the Viking Carena Complex.
Are you great at organizing? Are you an amazing mentor? Do you enjoy people & providing a service? You might be the right person!
During the hockey season we host many hockey tournaments and games, and have students working in the Carena Kitchen. For many of them this is a first job, and first time in a service driven job. If you are a mature individual, interested in getting out into the community, utilizing a skillset you relied on in your previous career, and meeting the many people who come to our community for sports, we welcome the opportunity to talk to you about working at the Carena Kitchen.

Beaver Emergency Services Commission - Part-Time Bookkeeper
Beaver Emergency Services Commission (BESC) urgently requires a part time bookkeeper to work at our headquarters in Viking. The position is currently for 16 hours per week. Hours may increase in the future. Hourly rate will be commensurate with related experience.
BESC is a regional services commission that manages the administration of 6 volunteer fire departments within the Beaver County region. BESC is also responsible for Emergency Management within the region.
Bookkeeping responsibilities include:
- Recording journal entries, completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accounts payable, receivable and capital asset details.
- Preparing month end financial reporting for the board of directors
- Following up with delinquent accounts
- Preparing invoices
- Preparing cheques and posting EFT payments
- Preparing and filing GST and WCB returns and remittances
Position requirements
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes
- A minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency with SAGE 50 and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and strong organization skills
A certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset.
