Fire Advisory in Effect - July 11, 2024
Effective immediately Tuesday July 9, 2024, Beaver Emergency Services Commission has declared a FIRE ADVISORY for all Municipalities in Beaver County.
This Fire Advisory:
- Prohibits any large burns with brush piles/logs. Those projects should be completed during the late fall/winter months.
- Previous permit holders should re-visit their burn sites to ensure extinguishment and ensure all fire breaks are in place.
The following are PERMITTED during this Fire Advisory:
- Burning barrels equipped with a metal mesh screen.
- Safe wood campfires in approved fire pits on private lands and in campgrounds.
- Portable propane fire pits.
- Gas or propane stoves and barbeques, including briquettes.
- Catalytic or infrared style heaters
- Pellet style electric smokers.
Off-Highway Vehicles can start wildfires – check frequently to ensure hotspots are free of debris, and make sure mufflers and spark arrestors are working properly.
Ensure winds are projected to be less than 10 km/hr for the duration of your burn.
Never leave a campfire unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until cool to the touch to ensure it is extinguished.
This Fire Advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
