Thank you to our town and community for continuing to support the Viking Medical Clinic during this pandemic. We are here for your medical needs. As this pandemic has evolved and restrictions are lifting, we are starting to accept selected appointments again. There will be on going changes so please call the clinic for the most updated information. Our clinic hours are still the same.

We want to let you know of some upcoming changes – we are getting two new physicians in the next few months; and unfortunately, saying goodbye to Dr. Nieman and Dr. van Rooyen who will be leaving us at the end of August. They will be missed, and we wish them and their family all the best in their new practice. Dr. Nieman is still happy to be your family physician until then, so please phone the clinic if you would like an appointment to see him.

In May, Dr. Neels Niemand will be joining the clinic. He will be doing full scope rural family practice including obstetrics and surgery. He will be taking on new patients when he arrives. In September, Dr. Kate Overbo will also be joining us. She also will be doing full scope family medicine including obstetrics. She will be taking on new patients at that time. We look forward to welcoming them to our community and practice.
 
In order to best meet the needs of the community, we are starting a waiting list for these physicians to accept new patients. Our target will be those patients who do not have a physician at all (i.e. Dr. Hallett’s previous patients or new people to the community and surrounding area.) Current patients of Dr. Nieman are also welcome to place their name on the list to make the transition easier once he leaves. We will do our best to accommodate everyone.

If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please call the Viking Medical Clinic starting May 4th, and let us know which physician you would prefer (we do our best to accommodate your requests, but please recognize that it will not possible in every case as we start to fill up).
