Citizens on Patrol Viking - EVENTS

So far this year we have been able to participate in several events. Our first event took place in May with the Highway Clean Up. We were a small group of five, but we managed to walk 3.5 km and raised $350.00.  

Also in May we attended the Alberta Crime Prevention Week barbecue held here in Viking at the Carena. We had a table set up handing out Licence Plate Lock Kits as well as information about our C.O.P. group.

Next we decorated and entered a float in the parade during the Viking in the Streets, which took place in June. We were very proud to win 2nd place in the Non Commercial Category. Also several of our members helped to run the Jail and Bail during this event and raised another $100.00 for our NON PROFIT GROUP. Well done everyone!

In July we had a table set up during the Indoor Car Show held at the Carena this year in Viking. We once again handed out Licence Plate Lock Kits and Junior C.O.P. Stickers to all the kids. We also sold Lemonade and bottled water. 

Our next big event coming up is the 5th Annual Brettzky's Hockey Challenge August 9-11. This is usually a well attended event and some of our members are going to help out with security. Several Groups and Organizations help out to make this event a great success. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well to start this year, off a member from our group Maynard Huibers attended the Brettzky's Hockey Challenge Cheque Presentation held on February 3, 2020. This event was held at the Viking Carena Complex and our group received a cheque in the amount of $1500.00. This was a donation that our group received for having members volunteer during the Brettzky Hockey Challenge. We had members who volunteered their time to help out with security during this event. The money will go towards COP Insurance and will also be used to send a couple of members to the AGM this year. It was also decided to purchase a new dash cam for use during our patrols if the one we have can not be repaired.
